Here we are. After nine months of enduring some of the weirdest things you’ll ever experience (like cravings for chocolate-pickle icecream) your pregnancy is finally over. You have a new, beautiful, babbling bundle of joy – and you realize just how difficult the entire pregnancy was.
Not for you – but for him!
Push present ideas for women are abundant, but hardly anyone has talked about what to get for the guy who hung in there (rather heroically) with all of your crazy demands. Reverse push present ideas don’t get their fair share of coverage, so we’ve decided to give you a few ideas.
Lingerie – your guy loves you, and if he’s like most reasonably intelligent men, he never let on that he missed the hot body you rocked before you developed a baby bump. Instead, he told you how beautiful you looked while pregnant, and that you always seemed to be glowing. Oh, please! After six weeks of medically-mandated abstinence, he’s going to be ready to get it on. Buy a nice, new, slinky piece and really blow his mind. It’s one of the best push present ideas you could come up with.
Tickets to His Favorite Sporting Event – it doesn’t matter if he’s into professional wrestling, football, or golf. Get him two tickets to his favorite sporting event – one for him, and one for a pal. Giving him a night out that’s just for him will show that you appreciate everything he’s done for you during the pregnancy – and give him some much needed guy time.
Home Theater Equipment – after that new baby’s here, dad’s going to be spending a lot more time at home than he’s used to. If you have the budget (and room) for it, hook him up with a home theater. 50” flat screen TV’s are a lot less expensive than you might think, and a surround sound system can be relatively inexpensive, too. You can make it one of the best reverse push present ideas by dedicating some space to his “future man cave” and arranging to have it all set up before he gets home.
Engraved Watch – most push present suggestions focus on jewelry, but let’s face it: guys don’t really want earrings, necklaces, or rings. Most of them do enjoy wearing a nice watch, though, and picking one out for dad allows you to have a special message engraved, like “Dad, you’re going to be awesome at this!” and he’ll cherish it forever.
Box of Cigars – okay, this idea all by itself isn’t that great. But, if you get him a box of cigars and allow him to throw a small get together with the ol’ boys club, he’ll really be able to enjoy himself. He’ll also benefit from the knowledge and advice that other, more experienced dads can pass on.
If none of these suggestions make sense for your guy, just remember the cardinal rule of gift giving: make it personal, and they’ll cherish it forever.
