There is no doubt that women carry the load, both literally and figuratively during pregnancy, however, husbands and baby daddies alike also have their fair share of burdens to shoulder during the nine-month journey.
It’s still nothing compared to what a woman puts herself through, but I digress.
From dealing with unpredictable emotions to assembling all of the baby “stuff,” odds are that your man has pitched in to make the pre-baby experience a little more tolerable.
So what to buy a new dad? If you want to thank your husband with a push present, consider the following.
Watch. A nice timepiece goes over well with most men from all walks of life. It is classic, timeless. After the baby is born, the watch can be engraved with the child’s birth date and/or name, turning a special gift into an extraordinary gift.
Freedom. We are talking about a few hours away with no wife — no baby. Uninterrupted time away from home life can be the best thing for the entire family. It could be tickets to a concert with a friend or a round of golf at his favorite club. The goal is to give him time away so that he still feels like himself. And if he comes back a bit re-energized, it’s a double score!
iPad/Technology. Consider the iPad3 with Retina display, LTE and A5X CPU. Or save a boatload on the newly discounted iPad2. A tablet can double as a gift for the entire family. Part baby monitor, part cartoon machine, part escape — the iPad will make dad happy and be useful to everyone for years to come. Well, at least until the smaller/faster version is released.
Photo. A framed photo or picture calendar for his desk makes a great gift for a new dad, especially if he is going back to work. Everyone will ask him to see a picture of the newborn, so go out of your way to make sure he has a photo that he feels great about. Keeping it on his desk will also give him the strength he needs; a reminder of why he is working.
So what do you suggest to buy a new dad as a push present?
