As you probably already know, it is really not good push present etiquette to come out and ask your wife if she wants to receive something. First, most are going to say that they don’t “need” anything while in their mind they are beating you over the head with a frying pan, hoping you can read between the lines. Also, if they have to tell you that they want something, it pretty much ruins the element of surprise for them. Even if they assume that you are shopping for one, they really don’t know the mission is complete until they see the pretty bow.
So, what do you do if you are really not sure? Maybe you feel as though she will be mad that you spent money on her when things are needed for the baby, but if you don’t, then she will be disappointed. It is hard being in this situation, but you are not the first person to have to learn to read the subtle hints.
